Design and Construction:
The Rotary Lump Breaker is a modular dual-rotor design with rugged, three-point single-piece breaking heads constructed of abrasion steel (standard). The rotors are synchronized to operate approximately 100 RPM to avoid product heat rise. Bearings are isolated from the product processing area with a multiple labyrinth air purge seal design. The rotor assembly can be quickly removed from the housing from one end for replacement.
The Lump Breaker's smooth yet ultra-tough synchronized drive is one of the features that set it apart from its competition. No oil bath is needed. There are no intermeshing gears to wear out or bind. Only the shaft bearings require lubrication, and this is easily accomplished from external access points, making this mill a maintenance staff favorite. Larger units feature a redundant dual-drive configuration to eliminate any concern about upstream material back-up in the event of motor or power failure an important consideration when dealing with high volume materials flows.
